I'm Currently Avoiding: Sleep...reluctantly

I can't remember the last time I updated. I guess maybe updating is a good idea. Apparently it's been 5 days since I last updated. Or possibly more by this point, who knows? Better yet, who cares?

So yeah. Been a long time since I updated. I'm kind of tired for some reason. So maybe I won't be making this a big update given how tired I am. There are things I should be doing, but I can't seem to manage it. I have to...do some accounting stuff in the morning for my grandfather, so I have to be awake in six hours maybe. More or less. And I might have to drive him into town for his appointment with his tax...attorney? accountant? Whatever. Depending on when he finishes his preparations to go visit the tax man. If he's finished before my aunt and uncle come to pick him up to go, well then that'll be just nifty and maybe I can get a nap. If not, then I'll be stuck waiting around a tax office for who knows how long while he gets his tax stuff done. Just what I really want to do, you know? Bah. And there's not even like, a Barnes and Noble I can go waste my time at in town either.

Anyway, nothing of real import that I can recall happening lately. We went to the movies on Saturday. We saw "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days". It...wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think we're going to go see "The Core" when it comes out later this month because my Mom's all about wanting to see that. I wouldn't mind seeing that one movie with Chris Rock running for President that comes out...ermmm...next week I think? I don't know. It's just the idea of a lot of old people trying to jam to "Its getting hot in herre" and that old woman saying...whatever it was that amuses the heck out of me. I sort of thought about going to see Cradle 2 the Grave (which must be one of the most ridiculous titles I've ever seen for a movie), but the time it was supposed to have started had already passed by 1/2 an hour by the time we got to the theater. So we went to the movie and it was unexpectedly amusing and cute in places, but the ending kind of annoyed me because they insisted on using this soft focus lens that made everything slightly blurry. That annoyed me and made me want to smack the director. It was just cheesy and unnecessary. Essentially, it displeased me. I still find naming a man's pride and joy "Princess Sophia" in an effort to drive him crazy and get him to dump you amazingly amusing.

So after the movie we went to Walmart because I needed to buy a new watch battery. I looked at the various watches for awhile to try to make up my mind whether or not I wanted a new watch battery or an entirely new watch. I couldn't find a new watch that I found aesthetically pleasing which also had all the features I wanted (essentially an expandable watchband and a calander), so I decided to just get a new watch battery. It was about this time that I realized that I Did Not Have My Pocketbook Anymore and I then proceeded to Freak OUT. I realized immediately that I must have left it in the restroom at the theater and I rushed back there. I had to explain my forgetfullness to the tickettaker guy (usher? What is that guy's job description anyway?) and he let me in to take a look in the ladies room to see if my pocketbook was still where I remembered it being. Wonders of wonders, it actually was, and completely intact. I seem to be lucky that way. If I put my billfold down and forget to pick it back up again when I leave then normally I remember where it is fairly soon and its where I left it. I rarely forget to pick it back up though, which helps. So then I went back to Walmart, but my Mom wasn't where I'd left her (with my watch at the jewelry counter) and I had to search for her. I couldn't find her though, so I thought maybe she'd gone back to the van. (This thought was spurred on by the fact that the doors to the mall were closing (as the mall closes at 7 pm on Saturday evenings (but 9 pm on weekdays...don't ask me to understand that one) but Walmart is open 24/7)). So I went to the van and waited about 10 minutes to see if they were coming, but they didn't. That was when I decided that they must have still been in Walmart and I just missed them, so I drove the van around to the Walmart side of the mall and went in the store again to find them. I found them, bought one of those vainglorious male beta fish, and then we went to the grocery store before heading home. And we had pizza. There.

So that was Saturday, Sunday was uneventful and boring, and I already told you what I'm doing in the near future. So that pretty much covers everything. Oh, I was watching "Back to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt" earlier. That was amusing...especially the part where the guy playing young Adam West was talking to young Riddler about the rumors that Batman & Robin were gay. And he said something like, "I just don't see anything strange about two guys who run around in tights and live together..." And then he was like, "Oh." It was great. I was amused. Anyway, it was an interesting time, that Batman movie. It was cool, because I remember that old tv series. God am I old. Eesh. Ima go away now. Ciao.
