The Random Text Says: "" Beach & Baseball June 23rd, 2002 - 11:21 p.m. I'm Currently Avoiding:So. Can I just say that I'm really fricking tired now? I want a day off. I *need* a day off or I'm going to go nuts and snap from the stress. But is there a day off in sight? No, of course not. I'll let you know if/when I completely break down though. Until then...I don't know, pray for my sanity or something. So yesterday was the trip to the beach. Of course, I managed to sunburn myself in uncomfortable and unwanted places so now it's painful to sit down and to lay on my side (either side), and the only way I can really sleep comfortably is on my stomach, which I don't normally do and can't do comfortably either. So I'm basically doomed to painful sleep since I have no other real option. And I came home with a pound of fudge for my troubles, which probably wasn't the best idea ever of mine, but I'll live. Probably a few pounds heavier, but I'll live. The ocean was rather disappointing in a way. The sheer vastness of the ocean was interesting and the seagulls were entertaining, but there were several things I didn't particularly care for. Things were rather overpriced there a lot of the time. The water wasn't really that blue like I thought it should be. It was more green than anything else. I've discovered that I don't like salt water all that much. I don't know why I thought it would be similar to freshwater, but it wasn't at all and that displeased me. The sand at the beach was really fine and that made it hard to get it off of things like my body. The saltwater was also icky after it dried and of course, if you wanted to take a shower at the beach it was like $6 to do so, assuming you could find the bathhouse to take a shower in the first place. So it wasn't that great of an experience, but it was. I know that doesn't make any sense, but my thought processes don't work any more so sense isn't a requirement in my head any longer. Today I was forced to go to a minor-league baseball game, the first one I've ever been to. It was a small group who came and it was...okay I suppose. Well, not really. In actuality, it was long, very hot, and rather boring. The game lasted 12 fricking innings. The team that won hadn't had a run in 10 innings. They tied the game in the bottom of the 7th and then it just went on and on and on until finally someone won. The time spent in the really hot seats in the beating sun was not fun and probably didn't do the sunburn I accquired the previous day any good. And then there was an ice cream "social" afterwards. They forced everyone to walk around the edge of the field that was dirt. If you paused even slightly they urged you to keep walking and you couldn't step on the grass without getting yelled at either. It was kind of annoying. Then, since we'd missed the 5:40 ferry, we had to wait almost 30 minutes for the 6:30 (and last) ferry. Then, when we'd finally gotten back to the Philadelphia side of the river, we had to wait more time for the damn bus to show up so we could finally go home. It was really exhausting. Whee. So I get no time to myself for the next...who knows how long. I'll let you know if I've completely lost it or not later. Feeling lucky? Choose an Entry At RANDOM! Yes. Random.
