And the answer is...13 more entries! Well, 12 after this one's finished. Whee! Wonder what day I should hit 200? I *can* control that you know. There shan't be a day thing b/c I already did that, nor shall there be a song of the day...mainly because I haven't heard anything worth mentioning lately. Shan't is a strange word. I just realized this. I mean, I'm not even sure I did that right, but isn't shan't a contraction of shall not? Why does it look so funny? Most of the other contractions don't take letters off of the first word, especially when the first word isn't all that long. I mean, I can see contracting would not to won't, but shall is only 5 letters to begin with! I guess shalln't sound really odd, though.

Don't Look Here, There's A Word!

inexorable (adj. ih-NEKS-ruh-bul or ih-NEK-suh-ruh-bul)

: not to be persuaded or moved by entreaty : relentless

The Latin antecedent of inexorable is inexorabilis, which is itself a combination of the prefix in-, meaning not, plus exorabilis, meaning pliant or capable of being persuaded by entreaty. Exorabilis in turn derives ultimately from the Latin verb orare, meaning to speak or plead. It's a fitting etymology for inexorable. You can beseech and implore until you're blue in the face, but that won't have any effect on something that's inexorable. Inexorable has been a part of the English language since the 1500s. Originally, it was often applied to persons, or sometimes to personified things (deaf and inexorable laws). These days, it is usually applied to things, as in "inexorable monotony" or "an inexorable trend." In such cases, it essentially means unyielding or inflexible.

I had one of those "Triple-Thick Arctic Orange Shakes" at McDonald's a.k.a. "The Place of Tiny Hamburgers and Poor Hygiene." Anyway, it tasted like a creamsicle, only in shake form...so a melted and semi-refrozen creamsicle. For all I know, that's how they make them. However, if that's their idea of "triple-thick", I'd hate to see how runny their normal shakes are.

Ha! I changed my mind. Since it is now after midnight by a good 17 minutes, I can now put up the day, since I haven't done the 10th yet. So yeah, "today"...

September 10 is ... Swap Ideas Day (But what if I like my ideas right where they are? Stuck in my head and only half-formed?)

Anyway...I might've had something more to talk about...well, I do, actually, but I'm not sure I can prove it or not. If Diaryland would cooperate and let me look at a few things, this entry would be finished and posted...but Nooo! Anyway, I was going to comment on something the sitemeter picked up, but if it won't let me look at the pages, I can't do anything. So, the thing that stuck me funny was this one person from quest.net who found my diary twice by looking for "gormenghast pbs". Now, this isn't the strangest search I've ever seen, it was just the fact that he found me twice using the same search. When I say he found me twice, I don't mean that he went through the same search and used the same link and found me that way, I mean that I'm on the results page twice for that. Once here on the 13th page, and another time here on the 23rd page. This confused me more before I realized that they were two seperate entries. Still, I don't understand why they'd end up having three page views from the second link, but leave from the same page. Especially since the second, older entry doesn't talk about it much. At least, I don't think it does...no, it doesn't. Just the name "Gormenghast," twice. Says nothing at all about the movie or times or anything. Frankly, I don't even know what they were looking for. Weirdos. And why do people keep searching for this? Do they want to know what it is? Do they have a secret fetish for trees? Or is it something else? Technically I've been writing this for about 2 & 1/2 hours now, I think I need to stop.
