I'm Currently Avoiding: Sleep. I'm tired again.Hmm. This week so far in review:
Monday was Memorial Day and remember how I said I had to get up in 5 hours? Well, it ended up being more like an hour or two nap before I had to get up. I can't remember if it was 7 or 8 in the morning when I went to bed. I think maybe it was seven. Anyway, so I got up after too little sleep and then I had to get dressed and take Grandpa to the Memorial Day Service in town. Cora was supposed to go, but she couldn't think of any reason why she should, so she stayed home. And that was just hunky-dory with me. I couldn't bring myself to care one way or the other.
So I drove him to the Senior Center, then to the cemetery because my aunt and mother wanted to stay at the Senior Center to help set up for the luncheon afterwards. So I did that and it was really windy so you could hardly hear what they were saying, and then we drove past my Grandmother's grave to go back to the Senior Center. They didn't charge for lunch this year, there was just a freewill offering instead. So I ate a piece of ham, some of the scalloped potatoes, a lot of the buns, and several desserts. Of course, I was finished before Grandpa was, but I had to wait for him to finish so I could go home. I was tired, but then I got home and I couldn't sleep. So I stayed awake until something like 9 pm and then was asleep for like 12 hours.
Tuesday I went to Aberdeen with Mom and we ran around like crazy. She did a heck of a lot of things and I only came along to buy groceries, which was the last thing we did. I made her feed me though, so we went to Perkins. I had a bowl of potato soup and a French Country Cake, which was their new weird dessert. It was like a round yellow cake with strawberries in the middle, strawberries on top, a scoop of ice cream, some whipped cream, and 3 cherries. It was unfortunate that the first one they made had blueberries in the middle instead of the strawberries that were supposed to be there. So I made them make me another one. And the waitress heard my Mom's order wrong, so I was less than impressed with her. We went to the grocery store last and I got meals for Wed. through Saturday. Also, I got CHAI! I was so pleased with the fact that I found vanilla chai in the grocery store that I've had 4 cups of the stuff in the past two days. That's impressive considering the fact that it was 81 degrees outside at 6 pm yesterday and I've never been a fan of drinking hot beverages in the heat.
So the reason why I needed to get meals for 4 days is because Mom's gone away to visit my aunt until Saturday. It's a pain in the ass, but I guess I'll like the semi-solitude. I'm not too thrilled about the "You have to do dishes and burn things and cook and you can't sleep whenever you like" bit, but it's all right. I did laundry yesterday and that was the big thing. It took a long time. It was slightly annoying. But necessary, so I'm glad its done.
Umm...haven't done a lot today. Except write this entry, which took almost 5 & 1/2 hours. Now it's 4:45 pm and I'm going away. Ciao.
