Two Days of Not Enough Writing...

So. Friday, concluding my week of pain, torture, and paper-writing, I went to the Philadelphia Flower Show. It was fun and full of pretty things for me to look at. It made me happy. You can go view the pictures here, since I spent awhile last night fiddling with the pictures and putting them up. In fact, it was part of the reason why I didn't feel like updating last night. There are other reasons why I didn't want to...well, do I remember them? Not especially. Completely apathetic towards updating or something. Blah. Don't really care.

indoctrinate (v. in-DAHK-truh-nayt)

1 : to instruct especially in fundamentals or rudiments : teach

2 : to imbue with a usually partisan or sectarian opinion, point of view, or principle

Indoctrinate simply means brainwash to many people. But its meaning isn't always so negative. Sometimes indoctrinate simply means to teach -- a meaning that is perfectly in keeping with its Latin root. The doc in the middle of indoctrinate comes from the Latin verb docere, which also means to teach. Other docere offspring include docent (referring to a college professor or a museum guide), docile, doctor, doctrine, and document.

So I went to the Flower Show. It was spiffy. I enjoyed it, and I now have a tiny tree in a pot that requires probably entirely too much care for my habits. I have to go out tomorrow and pick up a tray to put my little pot in, some gravel, and a little mister spray thing. And I have to go grocery shopping, I might go to work (but I'm on vacation so why would I want to go there?), and maybe CVS. Other than that, I don't really have any grand plans. What a pathetic vacation huh? Never go anywhere, just sleep and stay in my little room. Except maybe the zoo later this week.

Saturday night I baby-sat. I guess it was okay. Enough about that. I'm not inclined to speak of it. Blargh. Well, I don't feel like doing this any more. See you later.
