Traveling is Making Me Nuts

Another day, another entry. Or something like that. Yet again it is cold and yet again I am off to travel in the morning. This is really getting tedious. I've spent entirely too much of my vacation in a car or a plane. It doesn't help that I get to go directly from my vacation to those other things on Monday either. Enh.

Did I even have anything to write here or was this just an excuse to say I wrote an entry for five consecutive days and not be lying? I really don't want to have to pack yet tonight. However, the pile of clothing on my bed tells me that I probably will be. Theoretically, I only have about another five and a half hours before leaving for a place with an airport, so I don't have all that much time to pack either. Ugh. I was going to take pictures of the stars like I said, but every time I tried it didn't come out very well, so I took pictures of the moon instead. It's not even a full moon so there's really no fun at all to be had there. I probably won't even keep them.

Would you have guessed that facile and difficult are

related? They are! Facile comes to us through Middle French, from the Latin word facilis, meaning easy, and ultimately from facere, meaning to make or do. Difficult traces to facilis as well, but its history also involves the negative prefix dis-, meaning not. Facile can mean easy or easily done, as befits its Latin roots, but it now often adds the connotation of undue haste, shallowness, or oversimplification, as in "facile answers to complex questions."

My head hurts. Damn exercise equipment. I think I might try to get some sleep or pack or something now. After all...I have more travel to look forward to loathing in the morning.
